There's a fresh new approach to culture and leisure in Peterborough
Many of Peterborough’s most popular cultural and sporting facilities are now part of something new. Vivacity.
Vivacity is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, made up of a 300 strong team of staff, as well as volunteers.
Our goals are clear: to manage and improve the facilities you use, to encourage you to try new things, and to ensure that
you enjoy the experience at each and every one of the venues, events and activities we run.
We will also be actively working to support the many related clubs and societies in and around the city. And looking ahead,
we’ll be applying for funding to help develop the quality and breadth of services we provide. For all our latest news, and access
to exclusive offers, register with us now. You can also keep in touch via Twitter and Facebook.
Museum & Art Gallery
With an exciting range of exhibitions and events, historic tours, guided walks and over 200,000 artefacts and artworks, there’s a different experience at Peterborough Museum
and Art Gallery every visit. From a lively programme of schools education sessions to reminiscence parties there is something for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
The Museum & Art Gallery is open from 10.00am to 5pm Tuesday (Monday during school holidays only), and 12 noon to 4pm Sunday. Admission is free of charge.
Key Theatre
From drama to dance, and comedy to live bands, the Key Theatre offers a high quality programme of national touring shows and local community productions, as well as our own
productions (including the renowned Pantomime) and performances by the Key Youth Theatre.
The theatre building itself is a contemporary, purpose built space, with an intimate and atmospheric 379 capacity auditorium, and rehearsal studios available for hire.
Sports and Leisure
Our leisure and swimming centres around the city offer high quality and affordable sporting facilities and classes, together with our superbly equipped ‘Planet Pulse’ health
and fitness suites.
You can enjoy a wide spectrum of activities from badminton and squash to dance and martial arts, with fitness classes delivered by our highly trained team of fitness
instructors.
Some of our venues also provide catering for events, children’s parties and wedding receptions.
Libraries
With branches located across the city, Peterborough Libraries are free to join. As well as books (including access to the latest titles and bestsellers) and periodicals, you
can borrow a wide range of audio books, DVDs and CDs.
Membership also entitles you to free use of our library computers, including free Wifi at the Central Library. You can borrow up to 12 items at any one time, and you can also
use the archive service which operates from The Central Library.
