VISTA and the role of new technologies in archaeology
Dr Henry Chapman
Archived Event
THURS 28 FEBRUARY, 7PM
Find out how cutting-edge technologies are revolutionising how archaeology understands the past.
Those who visited Flag Fen this summer will have seen the amazing virtual reconstruction of the site as it might have been when the causeway dominated the landscape, over 3,000 years ago. The IBM Visual and Spatial Technologies Centre (VISTA) produced this visualisation from data collected on-site. Now join Dr Henry Chapman, Director of VISTA, as he discusses the exciting work of the centre, and how visual and spatial technologies are revolutionising how archaeology, and other disciplines, understand the past.
Refreshments will be available to purchase both before and after the lecture.
All workshops and lectures can be booked through Peterborough Museum on 01733 864663 or museum@vivacity-peterborough.com. Booking is essential for all workshops and strongly recommended for lectures.
