Parade
Thousands joined the parade as it made its way through the city centre to mark the start of the Central Park Weekend.
Starting in Cathedral Square at 11am, the parade made its way along Rivergate and through Bridge Street, before joining the Mayor of Peterborough in his horse drawn carriage outside the cathedral gates. The parade then worked its way along Long Causeway, via Broadway and on to its final destination, Central Park, for the opening ceremony.
The parade included many of Peterborough’s schools, clubs, charities and hundreds of local guides and scouts. Also, Emergency Exit Art brought along their incredible five-metre high, walking, talking Binbot made from wheelie bins!
