Posted on 25 July 2012

Families are invited to be entertained by professional actor and storyteller “Creaky Knees” Andy Hawkins at selected libraries on Tuesday 7 August.

Andy’s stories whisk listeners to a world of genies, giants, unicorns, and talking raindrops.

Andy will be visiting three libraries on 7 August; Bretton Library from 10.30-11.30am, Orton Library from 12.30-1.30pm and Central Library from 2.30-3.30pm.

The event is suitable for ages 11 and under, accompanied by an adult, and costs £1 per child. Places can be booked in advance at the relevant library. Telephone 01733 864280 for more information or visit

Elaine Wilkinson, librarian at Vivacity, said “Andy’s performance style is fun and highly energetic, stories and poems are brought to life and audiences are encouraged to take a marvelous journey through their imaginations. It will be good fun for both children and adults alike.”

After studying Drama, Theatre Studies and Contemporary performance art at Canterbury University Kent Andy went on to become an actor both on stage and on screen.
