Vivacity has teamed up with England Hockey to launch Rush Hockey Peterborough to get 16-24 year olds more involved in the sport.

‘RUSH HOCKEY’
‘ITS FAST, ITS FURIOUS, ITS FUN’

Vivacity will be running open sessions every Thursday night 4:30pm-6pm for 6 weeks starting on the 23rd February until the 29th March. This will be held on the astro turf pitches at the Embankment (Regional Fitness & Swimming Centre).

Rush Hockey aims to get 16-24 year olds more involved in sports by providing a fun, social environment where anyone of any ability can participate in a shorter version of the sport hockey. The game played without goalkeepers, with four or five players per side. The ball is bigger and lighter, the rules are simpler and playing times are shorter – meaning that groups of varying ability can come together and still enjoy a fun and competitive game that fits more easily into adult life

Enter a 5 aside team or form a team on the night. Games are 40mins long, but are broken into 8min x 4 quarters with 2min breaks in between. The sessions only cost £4.00 per person and equipment will be provided if required.

“Players will experience the thrill of competitive play, team camaraderie and physical activity whenever and wherever they want,” said England Hockey Board Development Director, Holly Woodford.
