The Story Tent – with Professional Storyteller Marion Leeper

Posted on 1 August 2012

Professional storyteller Marion Leeper will be at libraries to entertain families with some great tales on Thursday 23 August.

Hear stories from around the world to inspire your own stories and images, and decorate your very own story tent!

Marion will be at three libraries – Werrington Library 10.30-11.30am, Central Library 1-2pm and Hampton Library 3-4pm.

The event is suitable for ages 12 and under, accompanied by an adult, and costs £1 per child. Places can be booked in advance at the relevant library. Telephone 01733 864280 for more information.

Elaine Wilkinson, librarian at Vivacity, said “Children will be whisked off on a journey around the world with her fascinating tales, and will have the chance to help create a magical story tent and take home a souvenir.”

Marion Leeper grew up in a family of actors, raconteurs, tellers of tall tales and downright liars. She has been listening to and telling stories (true and less true) for longer than she can remember. She has worked with young children for many years as a teacher and storyteller, and has appeared with Cambridge Storytellers.
