100 days to the Paralympics

Get a Taste for Sport – Peterborough’s Paralympic Legacy

This project will give people with a disability, their family, friends and carers the chance to try a number of Paralympic and non-paralympic sports during a three day taster event marking 100 days to the start of the Paralympics. The event will take place on 21 – 23 May 2012 at three venues that are; Regional Fitness and Swim Centre, Ferry Meadows and Peterborough Regional College.

We will be working with local clubs, Schools and colleges, care organisations, coaches, National Governing Bodies and the County Sports Partnership to offer sports specific sessions across the city which will help to create sustainable sports after the Paralympic games have finished.

This project is open to all ages and abilities as there will be something for everyone, so if you’re not sure whether you are able to take part in sport then this is the time to prove you can do it.

There are other opportunities for anyone to be involved such as supporting coaches on the taster days and volunteering at a local club all enabling you to increase your skill set.

Please view the booking forms, poster and more information about the sports.

Booking Forms are available for download but if you have any questions in please contact Matt Taylor, Sports Development Officer on matt.taylor@vivacity-peterborough.com or 01733 863783.
