The box office is open 10am to 6pm on non-show days and 10am to 30 minutes after curtain up on show days, Monday to Saturday. Changes to booking and transaction fees from January 2015
We’re making some changes to our ticket pricing and booking fees which we wanted to make you aware of. Please take a moment to read the below so next time you book with us, you’ll understand how our advertised ticket prices are made up and what the breakdown of those prices are.
Changes to how booking and transaction fees are applied
Following recent legislation regarding booking fees, we have revised our fees and made it simpler and more transparent for you, our customers, to make decisions when booking tickets.
Currently, we charge a transaction fee when you purchase your tickets and this fee is applied at the end of the booking process. This means that the price the ticket is advertised at and the final price you pay are different.
From 6th January, the advertised ticket price will be the total price you pay with any fees included. This change will make it much clearer when purchasing your ticket as there will be no additional transaction, processing or handling charges applied over and above the advertised ticket price. There will be a per ticket booking fee included in the total ticket price and an optional 60p postage charge can be added at the point of payment. Your receipt will have show the face value of the ticket and the booking fee separately and they will equal the total advertised ticket price.
What this means to me
In short, the ticket price you see, will be the price you pay. Regardless of if you book your ticket in person, online or over the phone, the price will be consistent with no additional charges applied on top of the total ticket price. For example, previously, if a ticket was advertised at £15.00, we would apply a transaction fee at the end of your purchase meaning the total ticket price was actually £16.50. Now, if a ticket is advertised at £15.00, this will be inclusive of any fees so the total ticket price will still be £15.00 at point of payment.
Why include a booking fee?
For the majority of performances at the Key Theatre, there will be a booking fee of £1 per ticket included in the advertised ticket price. This fee is vital as the whole booking fee is retained by the venue (unlike the actual ticket revenue, the majority of which goes to the artistes and company involved in the performance), helping us to continue to deliver the wide range of performances and arts in the city and maintain a convenient ticket booking system for our customers. The booking fee enables us to ensure that you will enjoy the best possible customer experience when you buy tickets from us and visit our venue, as well as helping to support the work that we do and keeping the theatre open and accessible.

Online Booking Terms and Conditions
When booking online the system will allow you to choose specific seats. However, if you have specific seating requests please call our Box Office on 01733 207239, this includes enquiries about disabled and carer concessions, special group rates and booking wheelchair spaces.
Concessions apply to children aged from 0 to 16, adults aged 25 or under and 60 or over. Student concessions are for anyone in full-time education. Tickets are checked on entry to the auditorium and it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that they select the correct concessions when booking online. Refunds, Resales and Ticket Exchanges
We do not offer cash refunds, gift certificates are available at our discretion.

Receiving your tickets
Once you have booked online you will receive an automatic email confirming your transaction. When your tickets have been printed and are ready to be collected from our Box Office, you will receive a further email. Please bring this with you when you pick up your tickets. If you have requested your tickets to be posted, by selecting postage and packing on the booking form, the email will tell you that your tickets have been printed and will be posted out that day. Postage is by second class mail and is available as an option until a week before the date of the performance. Postage and packing costs 60p.
The Management reserves the right to:
Make any changes whatsoever to the performance owing to any unforeseen circumstances. Cancel or abandon a performance for reasons beyond its control without being liable to pay compensation or damage other than, at the manager’s discretion, a possible percentage or maximum refund to the ticket holder of the value of the ticket.
