  • Storytime – Tuesdays 2.00pm to 2.30pm and Saturdays 10.45am to 11.15am
  • Baby rhyme time – Fridays 2.15pm to 2.45pm
  • Reading group – Last Tuesday in the month 5.30pm-6.30pm and last Saturday in the month 1.45pm-2.45pm
  • Teenage reading group – Once a month – Tuesday 6.00pm to 7.00pm. Please contact library staff for date of the next meeting
  • You can do IT – including On-Line Basics, and Job-Seekers – help with a wide range of computer and IT queries plus Jobseekers – Tuesdays 2.30pm – 3.30pm, Saturdays 1.30-2.55pm
  • Councillors surgery – First Tuesday in the month 6.00pm-7.00pm
  • Family History Group – Our Family History Groups are currently full, but you are welcome to come along anytime and use Ancestry.com free on our computers.
  • Lit wits – Childrens reading group ages 7-11. Fourth Wednesday in the month 3.30pm-4.30pm.
  • Saturday Coffee Mornings. Run by the Friends of Werrington Library – First Saturday in the month – 10.00am-12noon.
  • Knit and Natter – Knitting and Crochet Club Tuesday 10.00-12.00 noon or Wednesday 1.30-3.30pm
  • Paper Crafters Group – Third Tuesday in the month 5.00pm – 7.00pm
  • Crafts for children – Every Tuesday 3.30pm-4.30pm, every Saturday 10.00am-12.00noon

Friends of Werrington Library (FOWL)

FOWL is an independent group which supports Werrington Library in Peterborough through promoting the work of the library, raising public awareness, keeping the library informed of public opinion, and raising funds.

They are a friendly group, and aim to enjoy themselves whilst helping the library. New members are always welcome.

Tuesday Reading Group – New Members Wanted

Our aptly named Tuesday Reading Group meets on the last Tuesday of each month 5.30-6.30. They would welcome new members to join them. Please see library staff for more details, or simply come along.

Computer sessions

  • Theory Test Pro – Free online practice for the Official Driving Theory test available on library computers at any time
  • Ebay, Laptop and Word courses available – please ask for more details

Events and activities for families, adults and children

  • The Romans of Fane Road, Wednesday 16th April 6.30-8.00. This event has been organised by the Friends of Werrington Library. David Crawford-White will be giving an illustrated talk about the discovery of a Roman Villa under Peterborough Allotments. Refreshments will be available.
  • Meet The Gruffalo. Friday 11th April 10.30-11.30. For ages 6 and under. Tickets £3.00 each, pre-booking essential. We expect this event to be very popular, so you will need to get your ticket early.
  • FOWL Coffee Morning. Saturday5th April 10.00-12.00. Refreshemnts, childrens crafting with Jackie, and an opportunity to find about the history of bottles from Mr Robert Payne. Why do some bottles have a rounded base, or a marble inside them?
