Book selection volunteer
Our mobile library brings the library service to people who don’t live near a branch, housebound people and residents of nursing homes. This important volunteer role based at Central Library, will be responsible for selecting books to meet the preferences of specific individuals. The mobile library will deliver these books on its rounds. Available: flexible
Mobile volunteer assistant
Our mobile library brings the library service to people who don’t live near a branch, housebound people and residents of nursing homes. This lively volunteer role will assist on the mobile library with the shelving and delivering packages of selected books to individual homes or nursing homes. Available: All day on Friday.
Knit, stitch & natter coordinator
_Do you knit? Do you like a natter? _We are looking for someone special to coordinate this new group at Central and/ or Bretton Library. Available: Central: Weekly on a Wednesday from 11am – 12.30pm/ Bretton: Weekly on a Tuesday from 10.30am – 12noon.
Library Link home courier
Our Library Link services provides home delivery of books for older or disabled library members. We are recruiting a volunteer to deliver pre-selected books to individuals in Peterborough.
Library Link Visitor
You will be a friendly face from our library service. Once you are matched to an elderly or disabled library member, we want you to get to know them well. You will spend time selecting, delivering and chatting about books, before returning previous selections to the library. Available: Time to suit, at least once a month.
Shelving volunteer
This important volunteer role supports the library service by helping to maintain a welcoming, easy to use library through promotion of stock and facilitating quick stock rotation. Available: Bretton library.
