Artists in Residence

Vivacity Arts is keen to support artists and performers through their development process by providing space, networking links and performances opportunities at the Key Theatre. We have previously worked with Lamphouse Theatre Company in preparation for their show Generation Zero at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Stream-Lyric during the working stages of their production TRANSFORMER and TrashDollys Dance Theatre who have previously performed at Peterborough Arts Festival.

Acrojou will be in residence at the Key Theatre with Vivacity Arts from the 16th Jan to 3rd Feb working on their new performance, Vessel. Since their first commission almost a decade ago, the company’s work has been seen live by hundreds of thousands of people across 14 countries.

Combining circus, physical theatre, melancholic humour and  projected video, Vessel will be an athletic and highly visual performance for outdoor, after-dark performances. What is a life well lived? What about all those things you meant to do one day? In a time of rising seas, homes lost to flooding, and escapes made in unworthy vessels, Vessel will be about the value of ‘now’, and whether it is ever possible to leave knowing you did enough.
